Confidence Cards Activity

Each student will make 2 sets of notecards:

Set #1: Confidence Spectrum Cards
These cards will help you describe how someone might respond in different situations.

  • Card 1: Confident

  • Card 2: Self-Destructive

  • Card 3: Arrogant

Set #2: I AM Noticed Cycle Practice Cards
These cards show habits that help build real confidence.

  • Card 1: Want-To (Choosing to grow)

  • Card 2: Positive I AMs (Like “I AM strong”)

  • Card 3: Noticing Goodness (In yourself and others)

  • Card 4: Receiving Goodness (Letting kind words sink in)

  • Card 5: Rippling it Out (Spreading kindness and confidence)

Now for the Activity:

  1. Start with Set #1.
You’ll be given different real-life scenarios. For each one, choose the card that best shows how you would respond:

    • Confident

    • Self-Destructive

    • Arrogant

Example: You’re at your favorite ice cream shop, and your friends say your favorite flavor is gross. What’s your reaction?

  2. Now use Set #2.

    • If you picked Confident, choose the Set #2 card(s) that helped you feel confident.

    • If you picked Self-Destructive or Arrogant, pick the Set #2 card(s) that could help you respond with confidence next time.

  3. Repeat with new scenarios.
You can start with simple ones like the ice cream example, and move to deeper situations if your class is ready.

Important Reminders:

  • This is a judgment-free zone—there are no right or wrong answers.

  • Confidence takes practice and growth.

  • This activity is about learning to notice your habits and build healthy confidence in real life (IRL).

  • Self-reflection and self-awareness are brave and powerful skills!
